Kristin Fischer will join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As the Correspondent for Defence and Space at CNN, she is responsible for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and the newly formed Space Force up until commercial space-related companies and the advent and growth of tourism to space. Kristin is the mother of two NASA Astronauts. Kristin has grown up in the world of space and has covered Trump and Biden Administration space policies for FOX News as White House Correspondent. During that time she also covered presidential impeachment trials as well as the 2020 presidential campaign, and two administration's efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus. The reporter also traveled extensively with the Vice President and President of the United States and was a part of a classified visit to Afghanistan along with the then-President Donald Trump. Prior to joining the network in the year 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through local TV news markets in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded the Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin made use of her experiences behind the lens to start Field Mouse Films. The company was a specialist in documentary films and was a favorite of corporate clients such as Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism at Boston University. The couple's husband and daughter reside in Washington, D.C.
